Erebus. Primordial God of Darkness

We start this new approach with Erebus. Exploring unexpected blendings is my biggest curiosity.

Today I pose a question: how might the Greek gods be represented through architectural or design styles and how does that perspective influence their worship?

🔳Erebus is the personification of darkness and another name for the realm of Hades, it's also the foggy darkness that surrounds the Underworld and the first stop of souls in their journey.

Son of chaos and husband of Nyx.

Many styles come to mind for Erebus, but the one that sticks the most to me is Brutalism, a movement born after WW2 aimed to solve problems.

Its philosophy is based on straightforward, massive, angled, and clean structures that reject ornaments or details, no more than the structure's exposed raw materials and parts. This represents honesty and functionality.

⁉️And how can we visualize this in deity work or the practice in general?

💀Sometimes darkness and truth are not something we like but need.
💀To be bold in actions and decisions.
💀And, in some cases, the function is more important than the shape of anything we possess or perform.

The sea of forgotten dreams

Hades showed me a place called "the sea of forgotten dreams", where all not-fulfilled dreams drown.

Imagine an underground cave filled with water, dark and murky water, and, underwater, a million small dots of light shine. The waves move with a slow rhythm that you cannot predict or know where it comes from, but it's still present; maybe, their origin comes from the falling of new lost dreams.

On the shores, stairs appear, on this place, you can sit and watch. There's profound silence, no one's here, only you and these forgotten dreams.

I cannot stop thinking about the similarities between creativity, fear, and the water element. All of them are related to the "flow" and "be", whether it be divine or wounded.

And, while reading a book called "The Artist’s Way. A Spiritual Path to Higher Creativity" I'm being enlightened on this topic and its reasons.

She talks about how to embody an artist's perspective on day-to-day life, I'm not done with it yet but I find fascinating the process of understanding that we all are artists by nature, by birthright, and the most important thing is to remember that we don't need to paint masterpieces or write best-selling books to be considered artists, by learning to be in the present and to nurture our own desires and wishes we can accomplish a life full of fulfillment.

She also explains something about an aquarium, which I find fascinating and I thought about designing a meditation about this aquarium. How do you see it? How is it? Are you paying attention to that ecosystem? Or are you fishing too many fishes at the same time and then you feel depleted? Fascinating.

And the similarities with the sea of forgotten dreams... We let our wishes die, intentionally, because we don't believe in ourselves, and we do it regularly! That leads us to not believe in ourselves, and, in the long run, what we do consistently becomes reality.

How are your inner waters? A peaceful sea? A raging river? A dead lake?

By letting our wishes and needs die, we kill ourselves in the process as well.

GLOSSARY (In constant update!)

Hello! Thank you for being here. 😊

We are starting to use terms that are not in the regular conversation, so I'll build a glossary with all those terms. As an architect and lover of research, I take very seriously my sources of information and usage of terms, so I'll do my best to gather them all here! Please take into account that some terms may not be referenced directly as they come from my professional background and thought process, either way, I'll let you know.

This will be in a constant update!

I've opened an online shop!

I am very excited to announce that I have opened an online store where I will be offering formats of my VotU renders for all of you.

I want this to be super accessible to you guys, and for you to enjoy my Visions of the Underworld renders in formats for desktop background and phone wallpaper.

I decided to make this offer after many of you asked me why I didn't offer this to other people because some people were attracted to the images as they were familiar to them, so I want you all to be part of the magic.

If you decide to purchase, I want to let you know that I'm BEYOND THRILLED about that, and in doing so you're helping and motivating me to create more scenarios based on other visions Hades has shown me; and also, you're supporting all my free content on all platforms, so... Thank you in advance! ❤

Conecting with Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, and related experiences with her

Persephone, by Aleksandra Medvedenko
Persephone with Erinyes. Goddess of fertility and the realm of the dead.

Well, I'm going to say something similar to my Hades relationship. I wasn't expecting to connect or work with Persephone.

The first time I saw her was on my first trip to the Underworld for my VotU project (Visions of the Underworld). Toward the end of the tour, Hades took me to his palace, and then this gorgeous woman dressed in red appeared. Her energy was kind but strong, bright and curious, and not afraid of showing up.

She came closer, I made a reverence, and then she asked what we were doing, Hades explained to her about "The Architect of Hades" and what we were pursuing, she seemed interested, and then she left.

I wasn't expecting to see her, but I'm already used to seeing things that are not in the plan before entering the meditation!

The second time I connected with her was during the Samhain group ritual of Angelica; at the end, we turn off the candles but my Persephone candle was still burning, and the wick was still bright and creating smoke for another half an hour.

After I cleaned myself and the space I decided to enter into a meditative state to see what was going on with that because I felt such a pull toward the candle; while seeing it I clearly heard "come to the Underworld", and who am I to question the messages I receive?

Hades took me to Persephone's garden, a place I'd already visited in previous meditations relating to Hekate; she was there, Persephone, dressed in gold, she gave me a wide smile, and then she grabbed me from the arms, and we sat and we talked.

She told me that she loved the flowers I bought for her, the gold candle, and the brownies I made for both. We talked about the future, my fears, and the things I want to build, she told me that she saw my difficulties in expressing myself and opening up about my gifts, and she told me that in previous lives I was a Queen and that I'm still one, it's just that now is buried under all that dust and dirt. Then, she gave me a green apple.

Both of them came together and saw me, I felt such love emanating from their bodies and that love filled me completely in such a way that I started crying, my physical body was full of unconditional love and the only thing it could do was cry.

It was the most magical, and blissful moment in my whole life till now.

Now, I have a dedicated space for Persephone next to my altar to Hades, right now is small, only a picture, a golden candle, and a sunshine crystal remain there.

I'm learning on the go, but I'm not stressed about it, I've learned to enjoy this journey and I appreciate the surprises that arise with the passing of time.
